Abstract
Triphenylantimony diiodine (2 equiv.) reacts with unactivated cobalt p owder to yield the unexpected cobalt(III) complex Col(3)(SbPh(3))(2); this five coordinate species represents a rare example of a paramagnet ic cobalt(III) complex.
