The first part of this article deals with the determination of intrinsic th
ermophysical properties of an ice slurry composed of an aqueous solution of
ethanol with ice in suspension. In this second part, we present experiment
al studies of thermal and rheological behaviour of this ice slurry. In a fi
rst time, heat transfer in a brushing surface heat exchanger were investiga
ted To evaluate the heat transfer coefficient between the ice slurry and th
e wall surface, a suitable correlation is developed The influence of ice su
spension on the pressure losses for ice slurry flowing in straight lengths
of tubes and in singularities was studied. Finally, the measurements of tem
peratures in a storage tank show a strong stratification with another distr
ibution of concentration in ice and alcohol. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd
