Abstract
This article describes a portable capillary-scale liquid delivery system ca pable of reproducible gradients at constant microliter-per-minute-scale flo w rates based on two independent syringe pumps controlled by custom softwar e. The simple-to-build stainless steel syringe pumps are capable of operati on at pressures exceeding 8000 psi. System performance is demonstrated usin g three capillaries packed in house. Reproducibility of the chromatographic system and column efficiencies are reported. (C) 1999 John Wiley & Sons, I nc.
