Abstract
A series of peptides with N-3-(S)-bromosuccinamoyl-(S)-2,3-diaminoprop anoic acid, a novel selective inhibitor of glucosamine-6-phosphate syn thase were synthesized and evaluated in vitro for antimicrobial activi ty against selected bacterial and fungal strains including dermatophyt es. All the peptides were found to be active against a broad range of bacteria and fungi. Tripeptides exhibited remarkable anticandidal acti vity.
