Abstract
The generalized k-constrained KP hierarchy is shown to correspond to a so-c alled pseudo-reduction of the two-dimensional Toda lattice hierarchy. descr ibed in a free-fermion approach which is adapted to the case of two singula rities in the spectral parameter range. Wronskian solutions are discussed a nd, in particular, soliton solutions rue recovered through a p(k) + c/p = q (k) + c/q reduction of the Toda solitons.
