Dynamics of glass-forming materials confined in thin films

By considering the effect of confinement of the collective motion of glass- forming molecules, we show how the relaxation time of molecules is expected to vary across a thin film and as a function of the film thickness. The re sults of these calculations are compared with available experimental data.
