Vp. Dmitriev et al., DENSITY-WAVE THEORY OF THE CRYSTAL-TO-QUASI-CRYSTAL PHASE-TRANSFORMATION IN FETI2 ALLOYS, Physical review. B, Condensed matter, 49(2), 1994, pp. 838-843
It is shown that the icosahedral phase of FeTi2 can be obtained as the
result of a reconstructive transformation of the displacive type from
its crystalline fcc phase. The transformation mechanism is an inhomog
eneous deformation of the fcc structure which can be associated with f
our systems of incommensurate density waves.
