Abstract
We report the observation of the time evolution of incoherent resonant scattering from the 14.4-keV level of Fe-57 excited with synchrotron radiation. The measured time spectra are consistent with a model with two components. In this model, one component has a significantly enhan ced decay rate and is the result of recoilfree excitation. The other c omponent has the natural decay rate for an isolated nucleus and result s from excitation with recoil.
