Abstract
We analyze, in the context of a simple example, the combined role of the un certainty of the data and of the a priori information, in the application o f the method of maximum entropy in the mean to a linear inverse problem wit h convex constraints. The influence of both error in the data and a priori input can lead to considerably different reconstructions. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
