Abstract
The first X-ray crystallographic data on an ionic host-guest self-assemblin g system with water-soluble tetraprotonated macrocyclic 2,4,14,20-tetrameth yl-5,11,17,23-(N,N-dimethylamino)methylenecalix[4]resorcinarene as a host a nd zinc tetrachloride as a guest are presented.
