Abstract
The heterocyclization of N,N'-diarylformamidines with phosphorus trichlorid e to form 1,4,2,5-diazadiphosphorinanes was found to proceed via the key st age of aliphatic electrophilic ylide substitution at the formamidine carbon atom.
