Abstract
Local densities of a hard sphere fluid in a cylindrical pore filled with qu enched disordered hard-sphere matrix are calculated using born-Green-Yvon e quation with Fisher-Methfessel approximation for a fluid in a homogeneous m atrix is used as an input. A comparison of the density profiles with simula tion data shows that the theory works satisfactorily for the considered mat rix and fluid densities. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V.
