Abstract
The acoustic phonons quantization in metallic nanostructures is expected to lead to peculiar features in the electron transport properties. When exper imentally observed these features are rather small as in the case of the dy namical resistance of thin wires. A numerical analysis of the electron tran sport through the different parameters involved in the problem is presented here. An attempt is made to determine the best conditions for the electron transport to exhibit these features. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All ri ghts reserved.
