Abstract
The interaction between a ferromagnetic monolayer and nonmagnetic substrate is investigated. The characteristic dimension of superstructure arising in a film is estimated. New types of surface magnetoelastic waves are obtaine d near the 2D phase transition of a homogeneous magnetic state to the state with surface superstructure. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V.
