The phonon transport processes in ferroelectric crystals and ceramics was s
tudied experimentally. It was shown that in BaTiO3 crystals the phonon scat
tering is controlled by domain walls. For ferroelectrics with diffusive pha
se transition the effective diffusion coefficient was found to be D-eff pro
portional to T-5 for temperatures 1.7-3.8 K. This dependence is in good cor
relation with the "plateau" region in thermal conductivity. (C) 1999 Elsevi
