T. Hirano et al., REVISION OF THE STRUCTURE OF THE LIGHT-EMITTER IN AEQUORIN BIOLUMINESCENCE, Journal of the Chemical Society, Chemical Communications, (2), 1994, pp. 165-167
The structure of the excited light-emitter in aequorin bioluminescence
was assigned not to an amide anion of coelenteramide but to a phenola
te anion on the basis of the luminescence of regenerated aequorin and
of the fluorescence of regenerated blue fluorescent protein with coele
nteramide analogues including N-methyl derivatives.
