Abstract
A physical model is put forward to describe the behavior of partial dischar ge (PD) in an electrical tree channel. And based on this model, the effects of PD on tree growth are discussed. Considering both the effects of PD and electrical field, a further model for tree growth is proposed, which may i nterpret many experimental phenomena in the early stage of tree growth.
