Dl. Mori et al., Validity of the MMPI-2 and Beck Depression Inventory for making decisions of organ allocation in renal transplantation, PSYCHOL REP, 84(1), 1999, pp. 114-116
Psychosocial factors are presented which affect clinical decision-making re
garding the allocation of renal organs. Patients were rated as being either
High Risk or Low Risk transplant candidates. High Risk candidates were sco
red as being significantly different from the Low Risk candidates on many p
sychosocial variables. Interestingly, significant differences were nor foun
d between these two groups on either the MMPI-2 or the Beck Depression Inve
ntory. The validity of using information from these inventories to allocate
organs is discussed.
