Abstract
The detection of a sample current under atmospheric conditions was applied to XAFS measurements of a Ni foil and NiO powders, and the feasibility of t he conversion electron yield (CEY) detection was examined. The obtained XAF S spectra were compared with those obtained using the conventional transmis sion method; it is concluded that fairly good statistics can be obtained us ing the CEY method and that the obtained spectra show an identical structur e to those obtained using the transmission method.
