Abstract
The endemic South African pulmonate mollusc Siphonaria capensis yielded C-2 epimeric mixtures of the known polypropionate metabolites siphonarienfuran one (1) and its Z-isomer (2), and three new polypropionates, capensinone (3 ), capensifuranone (4) and (2E, 4S, 6S, 8S)-2,4,6,8-tetramethyl-2-undecenoi c acid(5).
