Abstract
The major antibiotic constituent, xanthobaccin A, was isolated from broth c ultures of Stenotrophomonas sp, strain SB-K88 as a major antifungal substan ce. The structure elucidation by spectroscopic analyses and chemical conver sion revealed it to be a new tetramic acid-containing macrocyclic lactam. ( C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
