Abstract
The synthesis of the cytotoxic alkaloid luotonin A (1), which has been show n to possess antileukemic activity, has been achieved. The key step in the synthesis is a Friedlander condensation between 2-aminobenzaldehyde and dio ne 5. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
