The cosmic microwave anisotropies in a scenario of large-scale structu
re formation with cold dark matter (CDM) and texture are discussed and
compared with recent observational results of the COBE satellite. A c
ouple of important statistical parameters are determined. The fluctuat
ions are slightly non-Gaussian. The quadrupole anisotropy is 1.5+/-1.2
X10(-5) and the fluctuations on an angular scale of 10 degrees are (3.
8+/-2.6)X10(-5). The COBE results are within about one standard deviat
ion of the typical texture+CDM model discussed in this paper. On simil
ar to 2 degrees angular scale, the fluctuations are significantly larg
er than recent experimental bounds. Collapsing textures are modeled by
spherically symmetric field configurations. This leads to uncertainti
es of about a factor of 2.
