Pct. Horst, BENEFITS OF OPERATIONAL LOAD MONITORING IN CIVIL TRANSPORT AIRCRAFT, Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. Part G, Journal of aerospace engineering, 209(3), 1995, pp. 171-176
One possible approach for the determination of new maintenance inspect
ion schedules in the case of operational load monitoring is presented.
Emphasis is laid on fatigue critical structural items. The method is
based on the assumption that required safety factors may be reduced, i
f the actual load history is known from individual monitoring. As an e
xample the method has been applied to an existing widebody aircraft ty
pe.
