CONTINUING-EDUCATION IN BRAZIL - OVERVIEW FROM THE PAST AND PERSPECTIVE FOR THE FUTURE

A brief description of the main aspects and objectives of continuing e ducation (CE) is given, advancing a description of the situation in Br azil in the last two decades. The need for improving the professional librarian in highlighted as well as the requirements for planning, coo rdination and systematization of the efforts going on, through the est ablishment of a National Center; objectives and types of courses are s uggested for this Center and perspectives for the near future are prov ided.
