The molecular structure of (p-ClC6H4)(CH3)NNO2 (or C7H7ClN2O2) contain
s a planar NNO2 nitroamino group which is twisted about the N-C-phenyl
bond by ca 68 degrees from the plane of the aromatic ring. The struct
ural data are in agreement with the spectral results and indicate that
there is no conjugation between the aromatic sextet and the nitroamin
o group. There are no specific intermolecular interactions.
