SYMPLECTIC STRUCTURE AND THE FRACTIONAL QUANTUM HALL-EFFECT

We have considered the fractional quantum Hall effect from the view po int of the deformation of the symplectic structure on phase space. We have shown that on the phase space each quantized Hall particle in a n u = 1/m FQHE state occupies an area Delta p Delta q = 2 pi m (h) over bar, m being an odd integer, where m originates from the inherent geom etry of our formalism.
