Abstract
We have studied nondissociative and dissociative electron capture by C 60F35- in collisions with various gas targets. It is argued that this endoergic capture process can be interpreted within a curve-crossing m odel of the Landau-Zener type. Cross sections as large as 10(-16) cm(2 ) are measured for electron capture by 50 keV C60F35- in collisions wi th Xe.
