Abstract
A simple analytical method is presented for estimating the hybrid mini mum ignition energy (HMIE) of dust-gas mixtures, based on the assumed generality of Bartknecht's well-known test data for mixtures of propan e with, a series of dusts in air. Since the HMIE equation requires inp ut data which might be unavailable, the use of conservative default me thods is discussed.
