Hm. Pask et Ja. Piper, PRACTICAL 580NM SOURCE BASED ON FREQUENCY-DOUBLING OF AN INTRACAVITY-RAMAN-SHIFTED ND-YAG LASER, Optics communications, 148(4-6), 1998, pp. 285-288
We have investigated a simple scheme based on a combination of two non
linear processes, stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) in LiIO3 and secon
d harmonic generation (SHG) in LBO, which efficiently convert the 1064
nm fundamental of a Nd:YAG laser to the yellow at 580 nm. Average pow
er up to 0.55 W has been generated at 580 nm, using a standard arclamp
-pumped, acousto-optically Q-switched Nd:YAG laser which normally prod
uces 3 W of 1064 nm output at 4 kHz. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
