Electrical properties of poly(p-diethynylbenzene) (PDEB), chemically d
oped with perchloric acid (HClO4), were investigated as a function of
dopant concentration and relative humidity. The doped polymer was char
acterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), W-Vis, LR, electr
on spin resonance (ESR) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). A poss
ible structure of the HClO4-doped PDEB was proposed on the basis of sp
ectroscopic studies. In the presence of humidity, HClO4-doped PDEB fol
lows the proton conduction mechanism. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A. A
