Abstract
Tunnel states of dimeric mixed-valence clusters with d(n)-d(n+2) type two-electron transfer are considered. General expressions for the matr ix elements of the double exchange operator are obtained taking into a ccount the contributions of the excited states. The energy spectrum of the clusters is calculated and the magnetic properties are studied Al lowance for the d(n+1)-d(n+1) excited states considerably affects the energy spectrum and the magnetic properties of the systems.
