Abstract
Exact solutions are presented for analyzing dynamics of composite plat es with piezoelectric layers bonded at the top and the bottom surfaces . The expressions for mechanical displacements, stresses, electric dis placements and potential are derived from constitutive relations and f ield equations for the piezoelectric medium under applied surface trac tion and electric potential. The procedure is illustrated with a simpl y supported symmetric cross-ply (0 degrees/90 degrees/0 degrees) graph ite-epoxy composite plate covered with piezoelectric material polyviny lidene fluoride (PVDF).
