Rare earth(III) complexes, RE2(CPI)(3) . nH(2)O (RE = La, Ce, Pr, Sm,
Gd, Tb, Dy, Er, Yb, Sc, n = 3; RE = Nd, Eu, n = 4; H2CPI = 1-[(N-carbo
xymethyl-N-phenyl)amino]acetyl- isonicotinic acid hydrazide), have bee
n synthesized and characterized by IR, UV and H-1 NMR spectroscopy, ma
gnetic susceptibility, elemental analysis, molar conductivity and TGA
measurement. Preliminary pharmacological tests showed that these compl
exes exhibit definite inhibition activities against S. Sake Yake and C
. Albicans (Robin) Berkh 50.
