Abstract
Results of electrochemical investigation of the Sn(II)/Sn electrode re action in pure molten tin(II) chloride are presented. The exchange cur rent density has been determined by relaxation and impedance methods a s 1.6 A cm(-2) for the anodic and 1.2 A cm(-2) for the cathodic proces s, both exhibiting a weak temperature dependence. Both, the inductive model of a double layer of a metallic electrode immersed in its pure m olten salt, and a barrierless electron transition have been confirmed.
