Abstract
Our previous model of colloidal stability of a system containing aggre gates composed of several fine colloidal particles attached to a singl e, very long polymer chain [1] is extended to include the nonuniform d istribution of particles among macromolecules. Both the reversible and irreversible polymer - particle attachment was considered. The predic tions of the model are confronted with experimental results of the flo cculation of silver iodide hydrosol by very-high-molecular weight poly acrylamide.
