A. Verma et Rb. Singh, EFFECT OF SOIL AMENDMENT OF CLERODENDRUM-ACULEATUM AND CLERODENDRUM-FRAGRANS ON DISEASE INCIDENCE OF PIGEONPEA WILT, National Academy Science Letters, 21(1-2), 1998, pp. 9-13
Plants of pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan) were treated with dry leaf powder
of Clerodendrum aculeatum and Clerodendrum fragrans by soil amendement
in two different sets respectively under glass house conditions. Cult
ure filtrate of Fusarium oxysporium udum was inoculated in all the con
trol and treated acts, A fetal of five soil amendment (two preinoculat
ion anti three post-inoculation) treatments were given throughout the
experiment. Alter sixty days of inoculation, 30% to 40% disease incide
nce was recorded in treated sets, where as control plants showed 60% t
o 65% disease incidence. Due to decrease in disease incidence, general
increase in various morphological parameters was also achieved in tre
ated sets. The best result In protecting pigeonpea crop from wilt path
ogen and an increase in yield of around 4 times was obtained by soil a
mendments with Clerodendrum aculaetum under glass house conditions.
