Abstract
We record our observations an natural eutrophication and associated fi sh kill in a natural lake, caused entirely by roosting aquatic birds. Phosphate import via bird droppings led to monospecific blooming of th e green alga Chlorella sp, in the lake void of any human interference, paving the way for bottom hypoxia and large-scale fish kill.
