Abstract
Gold electrodes modified with self assembled monolayers (SAMs) of bis( 4-pyridyl) disulfide show satisfactory operational stability and a sup pression of Faradaic response to dioxygen, hydrogen peroxide and ascor bic acid is noticed. Immobilization of glucose oxidase, through glutar aldehyde coupling, into the SAM yielded electrodes which responded to glucose in the presence of a soluble mediator, ferrocenecarboxylic aci d.
