Abstract
Two forms of the gamma subunit of G protein were purified from bovine lung, and were identified as gamma(10) and gamma(11) by analyses of pa rtial amino acid sequences and reactivity with specific antibodies. Th e N-terminal amino acid residue of gamma(11) was an unmodified Pro(2), and the purified gamma(11) was freed from beta even under non-denatur ing conditions, Western blots with specific antibodies against gamma(1 0) and gamma(11) showed that both gamma subunits are present in a vari ety of tissues in the rat, with a particular abundance of gamma(11) in the platelets.
