Abstract
Two patients with pulmonary atresia and intact ventricular septum each underwent early palliative surgery with a pulmonary valvotomy and an ascending aorta to pulmonary artery shunt. Adequate right ventricular growth and relief of pulmonary stenosis rendered the shunts unnecessar y. The shunts were successfully occluded percutaneously with Gianturco coils.
