The Sorskoe Deposit localized within the Uibat granitoid pluton, which
is situated among Proterozoic and Cambrian limestone series, is chara
cterized by a significant role of CO2 in ore-metasomatic processes. Is
otopic composition of carbon of limestones, carbonates from ore format
ions, and fluid inclusions points to its delivery from host carbonate-
terrigenous series during their thermal-fluid transformation. These se
ries (especially their carbonaceous differentiates) might also be one
of the sources of molybdenum fluorine, and sulfur. The presence of suc
h a source was responsible for the specific features of the Sorskoe De
posit (elevated CO2 and F contents), which distinguish it from many ot
her copper-molybdenum-porphyry deposits.
