Abstract
Lyme borreliosis is an infectious disease with multisystem involvment, due to a spirochete known as Borrelia burgdorferi, transmitted to hum ans by ticks; its recent emergence is, in part, the consequence of ref orestation and the rise in deer and rodents populations. The preventio n and the treatment of this disease are well standardized, the main ri sk being its misdiagnosis.
