Nitrocellulose stabilization process has been investigated with the as
sumption that it occurs by capillary effects. The acceleration effect
has been observed if surfactants were presented. Surfactants, selected
to tests, are not affected by reaction with acids, and their traces r
emaining in the product do not change its stability. Time of stabiliza
tion can be several times reduced if content of surfactant in the bath
reaches 0,1%, what substantially reduces water and energy consumption
.
