Abstract
Spherical neutron polarimetry (SNP) is made possible by replacing the simple adiabatic coil arrangement used on IN20 for classical uniaxial polarisation analysis (UPA) with the zero-field polarimeter called Cry opad. Cryopad II represents the current state of this unique facility and it features numerous practical improvements relative to the protot ype Cryopad I. Most noticeable is the new monolithic design which incl udes a large room temperature vertical sample well. The calibration of Cryopad-II, based on a single nuclear Bragg reflection, turns to be r emarkably easy and simple. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights r eserved.
