Cesium hydrogen sulphate is one of the most extensively studied superp
rotonic conductors with hydrogen bonds. The first-order phase transiti
on, from the low-conductivity to high conductivity phase takes place a
t 414 K. The crystallographic structure of both phases has been establ
ished using high-resolution powder diffraction. Quasi-elastic neutron
scattering gave information about the spatial and temporal characteris
tics of proton transport. The present paper reports the results of rev
erse Monte Carlo modelling of diffraction data which makes it possible
to obtain the diffusion pathways for protons. (C) 1998 Elsevier Scien
