Abstract
We have measured the spin continuum in the spin-Peierls compound CuGeO 3 and showed a new feature appearing in the spectra: the presence of a second gap between the spin-triplet dispersion curve and the continuu m. The origin of this second gap is in close relation with the presenc e of a gap between the ground state and the first excited state (tripl et). (C) 1998 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
