C. Vincenzoni et al., LEIOMYOSARCOMAS OF THE SMALL-INTESTINE MISDIAGNOSED AS OVARIAN MASSES- REPORT OF 3 CASES, European journal of gynaecological oncology, 19(3), 1998, pp. 271-274
Leiomyosarcomas of the small intestine are rare lesions. Because of th
eir aspecific symptoms, diagnosis is often made at a late stage and, i
n women, must be distinguished from ovarian tumors. Three cases of lar
ge, abdominal masses, evaluated preoperatively as being ovarian tumors
, are presented. At histology all three were diagnosed as leiomyosarco
mas of the small intestine.
