Abstract
Fluoroethers neither destroy the ozone-layer nor promote greenhouse ef fect. We found that treatment of HCFC22 with sodium methoxide or metha nolic sodium hydroxide yielded fluoroether, CH3OCHF2. Vapor pressure m easurements suggested that fluoroethers were expected as alternative r efrigerants of HCFC142b. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
