Abstract
We propose a novel scheme for efficient parametric generation of mid-I R light by use of an optical cavity, incorporating a semiconductor non linear medium and a semiconductor laser amplifier. We evaluate theoret ically the threshold and the conversion efficiency of the proposed sch eme and show its advantages over conventional optical parametric oscil lators.
